When A Bomb Falls
The Story of the Al Dalou Family
On November 18, 2012 an Israeli F16 fighter plane bombed the Al Dalou home in Gaza City as part of "Operation Pillar of Defense." Ten members of the Al Dalou family and two of their neighbors were killed.
According to the United Nations, during the course of the eight day "Operation Pillar of Defense", Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) struck more than 1,500 sites in Gaza. 103 Palestinian civilians were killed and 1,399 injured.
Originally calling the strike against the Al Dalou family "an incident", the IDF have changed their explanation four times. Human Rights Watch concluded that the attack on the Al Dalou family was a violation of the rules of war.
This video was shot by Deep Dish TV Producer, Eva Lewis, during the December 2012 International Delegation to Gaza.
